Irish Helicopters have today been busy fighting moorland and forest fires at various locations throughout Ireland.
The warm dry weather has left the ground tinder dry and liable to wild fires, Irish Helicopters have worked with the fire services to extinguish these fires using our helicopters equipped with 'Bambi Buckets'.
These under slung buckets are filled with water from nearby rivers and lakes and then dropped onto the fire.
These fires can be difficult to reach for fire services, so helicopters are the ideal solution for effective moorland and forest fire fighting.
